Copper Wire Thief Caught Stealing From City Street Lights | City of Madera Police Department

The Madera Police Special Investigation Unit has made an arrest in the recent rash of copper wire theft from city street lights that was mentioned in an earlier post to Facebook. Below is surveillance footage of the suspect in the act of cutting and removing the wire. Brandon Gandee was arrested the following night when SIU members caught him in the act during a surveillance. The total loss during the two week crime spree cost the City in excess of $20,000. Some of the wire was recovered at a recycling center in Fresno.
