Two Merced teenagers were stabbed early Sunday during a house party on the north side of town, police reported.
Officers responded around 4:43 a.m. to the 3400 block of San Joaquin Court and found two men, both 18, bleeding from apparent stab wound, police said in a news release.
Both men were flown to regional hospitals. Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening, officers said.
Police described the incident as the result of an alcohol-fueled party that turned violent. The host of the party apparently shut down the gathering around 3 a.m.
Police said a verbal dispute broke out between two groups as the party ended. One of the groups left, but returned around 4:30 a.m. and found the other group still drinking in the area by their vehicle, officers said.
“There was a fight that broke out between the groups and two males were ultimately stabbed,” officers said in the statement. “It is unknown at this time if this gang related.”
No arrests have been made and no suspect descriptions were available.
