#VBNightShift catches two burglars, seizes suspected cocaine and repairs a broken window.
On Saturday, 5/23/15, #MCSODeputies were dispatched to a residence in the 29000 block of Hwy 145 regarding an in-progress burglary. Deputies Darrell Swengel and Miguel Hernandez arrived and were told by the homeowner that the suspect was still inside the residence. They searched the residence along with CHP Officers and located Jason Giovingo. He was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, concealing a dirk or dagger on his person and giving false identification to a peace officer. Giovingo was booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections.
On Saturday, 5/23/15, #MCSODeputies were dispatched to a residence at the 13000 block of Wood Street regarding an in progress burglary. Sergeant Zack Zamudio and Deputy Manual Chavez arrived and took the suspect Moises Martinez into custody as he was leaving out the back door he had use to break into the residence. Martinez was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property and two misdemeanor warrants. Martinez was booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections. Deputies later helped secure the window that was broken during the burglary.
On Monday, 5/25/15, #MCSODeputies stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Highway 99 south of Avenue 24. Deputy Nick Davis ended up arresting the driver, Linda Gunkel, for possession of a controlled substance after she dropped a baggie of suspected cocaine on the ground. Gunkel was booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections.
