An arrest was made in Chowchilla in the aftermath of a violent attack last Monday, June 15. According to the Madera County Department of Corrections, Terrence Royston, 20, was arrested by Chowchilla Police and booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon (other than a firearm) and attempted murder.
Chowchilla Police, who reported his name as Terrance Royston, made the arrest at 5:23 in the afternoon at a home on the corner of Orange and South 2nd Streets, near the Saint Columba Catholic Church, and across from the Rotary Club playground and ball fields in central Chowchilla. Royston, who is reportedly unemployed, lives at a home a few blocks from the scene of the attack and arrest.
Royston was previously arrested on October 28 of last year on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia by Chowchilla Police. At that time he was living at another home in the same neighborhood.
Royston is being held in the Madera County jail in lieu of $2,150,000 bail, and faces a potential sentence of up to 25 years if convicted.
Royston was arrested at or near this home on Orange street, according to police reports.
