Chowchilla Police Officer put on leave | YourCentralValley

A Chowchilla Police officer has been put on administrative leave, after his arrest by Madera County Sheriff’s Office for alleged sexual misconduct with a minor.

According to a statement by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, Tyler Hormel, 35, was assigned as a School Resource Officer. According to the statement, the alleged incident occurred at a location in Madera County, unrelated to any of the school sites Hormel was assigned to.

According to Madera County Sheriff’s officials, the circumstances of the case is still under investigation, but there is currently no evidence that indicates that any of the alleged misconduct occurred, while Hormel was on duty, or acting in an official capacity.

In addition to a criminal investigation by Madera County Sheriff’s Detectives, Chowchilla Police Department is conducting an internal investigation, according to the statement.
