Today, Madera PD and the Regional SWAT team participated in the execution of multiple federal search warrants stemming from a gang investigation initiated by Fresno Police Department. The investigation was a collaborative effort between federal, state and local authorities throughout our valley to dismantle and disrupt the source of income for the Dog Pound Gangsters street gang. The activities that resulted in the search warrants were human trafficking, prostitution, bank fraud, income tax fraud and violent crimes against persons. There were two locations in the City of Madera, specifically on Peach Tree Lane and Baron Street. We have fielded questions by concerned citizens regarding loud bangs during the operations and if they were related to shots fired. There were no shots fired during the operation. The loud noises during the service of the warrant were diversionary devices commonly referred to as flash bangs.
