Two suspects walking on Howard Rd with suitcases arrested for possession of methamphetamine | City of Madera Police Department

Monday night at about 10pm Officer Santoyo and FTO Powell were on patrol in the area of Williams and Howard Rd. During that time they observed Julius Chew (#1) and David Baldwin (#2) walking in the area with suitcases. Officer Santoyo felt this was unusual and condcuted a consensual contact with the two. As a result, both were found to be in possession of methamphetamine. In addtion Chew was found to be on probation out of Los Angeles for burglary and David is on parole out of Madera for weapons charges. Who knows what the two had planned for the night. This was good proactive policing, preventing crime before it happens. MT
