Shooting reported in Planada | Local News | Merced Sun-Star

PLANADA — Merced County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a Saturday afternoon shooting that apparently injured several people.

Deputies have released few details in the case.

According to Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Delray Shelton, deputies were summoned to a residential housing development Saturday afternoon in Planada for a shots fired report.

The shooting is believed to have happened initially at the residence in Planada, and continued on a nearby street area, according to Shelton. Deputies learned several people were injured during the incident.

The deputies’ investigation is in its early stages, and the condition of the victims has not been released. More details will be posted as they are made available.
